Ice at the Gaylord Texan

On the 23rd of Dec. we went to the Gaylord Texan which is a beautiful hotel to see their famous ice sculpture exhibit. This year the theme was a Charlie Brown Christmas. It was awesome and sooooo cold that they gave us huge blue parkas to wear. Even then we were absolutely frozen by the end. Lauren wasn't feeling good so she stayed home to rest. Rob, the kids, my parents, aunt Colleen, my brother Clint, and I were together and had a lot of fun . It was extremely crowded though. At the end of the exhibit they had the most gorgeous life size nativity all made of clear ice. Our camera had stopped working because of the cold so we didn't get a picture. It was definitely the highlight
of the whole thing. The other ice sculptures were made of colored ice that they had colored using food coloring. They looked like big Popsicles and we kept saying how we wanted to taste them.
The Gaylord Texan looks like it would be a fun place for Rob and to get away to sometime. It has shopping and a lot of restaurants. My parents couldn't find their car in the parking garage. It was really funn. It took them forever to get out of there. Landon was feeling sick to his stomach afterwards so we went on home. It was a great Christmas memory that we may just have to make into a tradition. Next year we just need to stay healthy!
