Eden turns 6 years old!

When Eden was born she did not cry for the first day and a half. I was a little scared that something was wrong with her, but the doctors told me not to worry. I guess she was already showing us her peaceful, content, very happy personality. She had clasped her two little soft pink hands with her tiny fingers intertwined as if she was praying. She continued to do this off and on for the first couple of weeks. She was our little angel from heaven. Our doctor gave Rob the opportunity to deliver Eden which was something very special for us, but there was a critical moment where she had to intervene because the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. She quickly pulled the cord from around her neck and let Rob finish delivering his precious daughter. She told us later that because of the unusual length of the cord Eden was lucky it had not severed one of her limbs or even caused her death. She was my quickest and easiest delivery.

We feel so blessed every day to have Eden in our family. We did not know when she was born she would be our last, but she is the perfect caboose to our four children. These past 6 years have been filled with great happiness and joy because of her special spirit in our home.

Eden is sometimes known as "The Sweetness" because always smiling. Even strangers come up to us and tell us what an extraordinarily happy child she is. Eden's Kindergarten teacher tells me what a loving and friendly student she is. Eden likes to give her fellow classmates hugs and is always looking out for other kids who may not have a friend to play with at recess. When I go to her school everyone tells Eden "hi", gives her hugs or high fives. When I drop her off at school in the morning it takes her an extra long time to say goodbye because she has to tell me she loves me at least 4 times, blow me kisses, and wish me a very happy day! I love this and don't mind making the other parents in the car pool line wait because next year it might be different.

Eden has been asking me lately if she is a big kid now. I tell her yes, she is getting bigger and older, but she will always be my baby and I think she likes this. So yes, my baby is now six. She is learning and experiencing new things and that is the way it should be. She is becoming what her Heavenly Father wants her to be. We love her. We are so proud of her. There is no one else like her. We celebrated a wonderful 6th birthday with her today and we can't wait to celebrate another 6yrs, and another, and another, and another....Happy 6th Birthday Eden. We love you.
