Memorial Day ice skating

memorial day rob was actually home which was very special. we decided to load up the fam and drive over to arlington to the parks mall where they have an ice rink. we haven't done this for a very long time, so it was a real treat! rob and i decided not to skate because if an injury did occur we are pretty much up a creek- to put it nicely. since it was a holiday they had special pricing. it only cost $20 for all of the kids to skate as long as they wanted, not bad. landon was almost as tall as me in his skates. kinda scary!!!
it was so fun to watch every child approach skating in their own way. lauren was pretty cautious at first along with emma, but after a bit they seemed to get the hang of it and really enjoy it. eden stayed by the wall most of the time, but loved every minute of her skating experience. she made a friend along the way, which isn't surprising as she is a very friendly girl. as soon as landon hit the ice he was on fire! there was no stopping him. he was in the middle of the rink going as fast and furious as he could. there were falls for everyone, but no tears, and no complaining. all of the kids  looked out for each other and i loved seeing them have fun together trying something new.

afterwards we shopped for a dress for lauren for her band awards banquet. she found one fairly quickly and we had fun just being silly together. the sun glasses were a hit for the younger ones.
it was a day well spent with my favorite people in the whole world.
