On saturday morning we packed back up into the Suburban and headed to Alamogordo, NM. We thought we would give white sands a try.

Landon thought he would see how far he could jump.

We stayed the night in Alamagordo and then Sunday morning we packed back up and headed back to Ruidoso. We had reservations at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. It is a casino/hotel up in the mountains on a lake. Nothing better to describe it but gorgeous. Every room had a balcony overlooking the lake. We got to the hotel around 11am and our room was not going to be ready until around 3-4pm so we thought we would hike around the lake.

The have pedal boats, kayaks and row boats to rent so we rented a 4 person and two person pedal boats and went out on the lake.
Somehow Lauren and Beth ended up in the two person boat and I got the three youngest with me. My legs wore out quickly.

The hotel is owned by a Native American tribe.
There are two restaurants, one that is pricy and one that is a buffet. I am not big on buffets so we only tried it once.

We settled in and then went to Ruidoso downs to see a horse race. There was no fee for parking :) and no fee to enter :)
We arrived around 5pm and sat down to watch the race. It was over pretty quick. We found out that was the last race of the day so we were there about 15minutes all together.
Monday morning we went to Grindstone lake and rode some horses.
Eden rode on the horse with me and Beth, Lauren, Landon and Emma all rode on their own horses. It was a 3 mile ride that took an hour or two. It was around a beautiful lake.

Monday morning we went to Grindstone lake and rode some horses.

We then headed up to Bonita lake and went on a hike with the kids. It was along a beautiful stream.

We got up Tuesday morning and headed back home. It is a 7 hour drive from Mineral Wells. We got in around 6pm and had to get back to work the next morning. We all had a fun time and will definately be making this trip again.
