Happy Birthday Halloween

This year we decided to actually celebrate Landon's birthday on Halloween. We had a family party with our little family and my parents. It was intimate and very fun! We let Landon decide what he wanted to eat. He chose to have grilled steaks, baked potatoes, salad, Italian bread, and for desert a Black Forest cake. I made little name tags for the seating arrangements at the table, they were fun!We ate an early dinner around 4pm. and then I had the privilege of getting the kids ready in their costumes while my parents and Rob did the dishes. I really enjoyed this!
Eden was a a great cheetah! Lauren chose to be the same thing as last year, a rock'in 50's Poodle skirt girl. Emma had fun being a "bad" witch with funky fake spider web eyelashes! Landon was a hippie Jamaican. I pulled out Landon's Darth Vador mask for my dad and he found a black cape to go with it. He was really spooky for the little kids.

Lauren, Landon, and my dad all decided to stay home and pass out candy. We had orange lights in the front window with a fog machine, a strobe light, luminaries up the walkway, and about five skillfully carved pumpkins that the kids and Rob carved the night before. They did a really good job! We even got the karaoke machine out and had Landon singing to "The Monster Mash" and other Halloween songs for a while.
Emma, Eden, my mom, Rob, and I all went trick-or-treating together. We didn't go to a lot of places, but the girls were very satisfied with what they got.
We could not believe the amount of people who came trick-or-treating on our street. Their was a traffic jam for about three and a half hours straight. We ran out of candy pretty fast and had to put all of our decorations away to keep people from coming up to our door. Next year we will be better prepared.
All in all we had a blast and Landon will celebrate his birthday with some of his friends next week at Main Event.
