Spring Break Camping

It was hot!!! I think Texas has forgotten all about spring and moved right on to summer. We did our best to stay cool under what shade we could find. The kids had a blast playing at the lake, digging in the sand, and exploring. The water was still pretty cool, but of course that didn't stop them. We were going to go canoing, but it was so hot that we couldn't muster the energy and we didn't want to fry in the sun. I knew my kids just wanted to jump out of the canoe anyways. The camping crew consisted of: our family of six, Rob's brother Charles, his wife Amber, her daughter Sadie, Rob's brother Michael, his wife Karen, and their baby girl Megean, Rob's sister Dorias, her twins Robert, Richard, and her daughter Rebecca. Rob's mom Su came out for the afternoon/evening to visit and hang out. There was no way she was going to spend the night! We cooked (there were no fires because of a burn ban), we hiked, and we sat around while we visited trying to stay cool. We had to leave early because of a soccer game early the next day. Rob said he doesn't think our tent will make it again on another campout. I guess we will be in the market for a new one. It was fun going camping with some of Rob's siblings and their families. Rob's family can be a hoot! (No pictures again of Rob because he was cameraman) I really wouldn't mind doing it again especially if it was a tad cooler or maybe we should just look at getting an R.V.Hmmmmm........
